Initial Behaviour Consultation
Initial Behaviour Consultation
3 Hrs: Online Behaviour Consult + In-Person Dynamic Profile
Service Description
A Behaviour Consultation with Cwtches Dog is very different from most behavioural assessments as it also includes a Dynamic Dog profile. ALL aspects of your dog's daily life are taken into consideration; from their behaviour, diet, movement, sleep, play, and their routine. Working with a knowledge of the inner structures and systems of the dog, we understand the impact emotional and physical health can have on a dog's behaviour, everything is connected, it’s why we insist on a full and detailed assessment when working with your dog. Why is Dynamic Dog such an important part of the assessment? Pain isn't always obvious, don't assume it's just a limp or a whine; pain related behaviour is extremely complex! Dogs don't often show that they are in discomfort in the ways we'd usually expect; it is often very subtle and can go unnoticed for weeks, months or even years! In a recent study carried out at Lincoln University by Daniel Mills, it was found that approximately 80% of dogs that presented with behavioural issues had some form of undiagnosed pain that was a direct cause, or adding to, a problematic behaviour. As a qualified Dynamic Dog Practitioner I am able to identify potential signs of discomfort and relay them to your vet so that you and your dog find relief sooner. What to Expect: Deep Dive - A 1.5hr zoom to go through all relevant information and take a look at what life looks like for your dog. Tell us everything, don't hold anything back! Data Gathering - An in-person appointment to film and photograph your dog doing various daily life activities so we can assess any physical issues. Evidence Analysis - We review the data to build a full picture of what is going on for your dog. Report & Vet Liaison - You’ll receive a comprehensive report to share with your vet to ensure that any underlying health issues are diagnosed and supported to lessen the impact on your dog's behaviour. We can accompany you if required, additional fees apply. Behaviour Management Plan - A short term plan to help you manage behaviour whilst additional veterinary support is given; longer term support can be discussed depending on assessment outcomes. ‼️ When booking, the date that you choose will be for the 1.5hr Initial Behaviour Consultation. Dates for the data gathering assessment and the feedback zoom will be arranged during our first meeting.
